ACTIVITIES

The third chapter of the Barcelona Declaration identifies intercultural dialogue as one of the main tools to encourage peace and development amongst nations in the Euro-Mediterranean area, but above all it recognizes the key role that audiovisual media plays in promoting knowledge and understanding, among nations and, above all, among young people.

In 1995 the MEDFILM Festival Onlus was created based on the above principles.
Through the promotion and dissemination of high quality cinema MedFilm aims to safeguard Human Rights and Intercultural Dialogue; to encourage the many different forms of artistic expression typical of Euro-Mediterranean countries; to educate and train young people to understand social-cultural differences; to fight racism and xenophobia; to safeguard and increase awareness with regards to the culture of ethnic minorities; to promote and disseminate European and Mediterranean culture.
