FESTIVAL SECTION

OFFICIAL COMPETITION Amore and Psyche Award
Admission is limited exclusively to the works coming from the Mediterranean area countries. An international Jury made up of experts of the sector will assign the Amore and Psyche Award to the best feature film and the following acknowledgements: Artistic Expression and Special Mention.
The winner of the Official Competition will receive the Cinema with a Passion-Tiscali Award.

NEW EUROPE Eurimages Italy Award - 3rd edition
This competition is dedicated to European feature films, produced with the support of Eurimages, and is supposed to be a cultural journey across the New Europe, from the new Eastern European countries to the shores of the Mediterranean. The International Jury will assign the Eurimages Italy Award to the best feature film in the contest. The winner of this category will receive the Cinema with a Passion-Tiscali Award.

ITALY IN CINEMA AWARD
Competitive section dedicated to young emerging talents of Italian cinema and admission is limited to first and second works. The Jury is made up of journalists from the most important international newspapers.

SPECIAL REVIEWS: GREECE AND TUNISIA GUEST OF HONORS
Each year MedFilm dedicates special attention to one southern and one northern country of the Mediterranean. For this edition the Special Guests will be Greece and Tunisia. These countries will be taking part in an intense program of activities, in which outstanding personalities, such as Costantin Costa Gavras, Theodoros Angelopoulos, Nouri Bouzid and Moufida Tlatli will participate.

New authors express their views on our times and our daily lives.

LE REGARD DES AUTRES
Special showcase on French cinema, that is the main observer and promoter of Mediterranean cultures of our times as well as the main producer of films made by important authors of the South.

DOCUMENTARY FILMS CONTEST Open Eyes Award
Competitive section dedicated to documentaries from European and Mediterranean countries. The International Jury of field experts will assign the Open Eyes Award.

SHORT FILM CONTEST Methexis Award
It is open to short films from European and Mediterranean Countries. The International Jury, composed of students coming from 40 Euro-Mediterranean National Film Schools and of a group of prison inmates from one of the Italian Detention Centres, will assign the Methexis Award

CINEMA WITH A PASSION-TISCALI AWARDS
The International Jury will also assign to the best short film in competition the Cinema with a Passion-Tiscali Award. A selection of all the works will compete for the Cinema with a Passion - Audience Award: the results will be based on the votes cast by TISCALI.it users.

SHORT FILMS FROM THE JAIL
Review of short films directed and produced by prison inmates.

TRIBUTE TO THE METHEXIS JURY
Shorts directed by cinema students participating in the Short Contest Jury.

UNAR COMPETITION Cinema e realtà... iinsieme contro il razzismo
MedFilm Festival Onlus and UNAR, the national office against racial discrimination, have opened the Cinema and Reality...together against racism competition dedicated to short films, documentaries and photos.
