MedFilm Festival

In every film, the large variety of identities and cultures is present. This is a priceless legacy, a precious reserve for our future.

Founded in 1995 to celebrate the Centenary of Cinema and the Barcelona Declaration, MEDFILMFestival is the international film festival in Rome dedicated to the promotion of European and Mediterranean cinema. The Ministry for Arts and Culture has designated it a Festival of National Interest, and it has become a Historical Manifestation of the City of Rome.

MEDFILM firmly supports the idea that Difference is a Value and, through the use of audiovisual means, it promotes cooperation among neighbouring nations. Every year it brings to Rome many beautiful films and guests from over 40 European countries and from the southern shores of the Mediterranean all the way to the Middle East. The aim is to gain insight into cultures other than our own through the magic of cinema. There are many international guests who intervene to present their films and offer direct testimonies of their activities in a vital and stimulating interaction with the public.
