MedFilm International Programme

The Medfilm International programme is a MEDFILM Festival Onlus specific project dedicated to international bilateral and/or multilateral activities in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
Thanks to the partnership with institutions and organisations based in countries that adhere to the Barcelona Convention, EUROMED - in the name of reciprocity - has promoted meetings with the highest cultural representatives of the Mediterranean area, as well as exchange programmes for the students of National Schools of Cinema of 40 countries, including workshops, meetings and multimedia activities.

The objectives are 3: understanding, through listening and observation, of cultural differences and creation of opportunities of dialogue, encounters and inter-cultural exchanges leading to cooperation activities between the South and the North of the Mediterranean. These are the necessary premises for a lasting future of peace and development.

In particular, the EUROMED FILM programme carries out direct exchange activities with Euro-Mediterranean countries through bilateral or multilateral meetings between Italy and those Countries that request them, including reviews of the Italian cinema abroad and vice versa. This programme has already carried out important activities with Israel, the Palestinian Territories, France, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungry, Slovenia, Malta, Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey and Algeria.

After the intense cultural activities involving Egypt in 2004 and Turkey in 2005 and 2006, and after the Week dedicated to the Italian Cinema in Algiers, during 2007 as well there will be reviews of Italian classic and contemporary cinema in Countries of the Southern Mediterranean.
