A Bridge at the Edge of the World
Director: Bahriye Kabadayi

TURKEY
2007, colour, 84'
Vers: Turkish, Kurdish - Sub: Eng

The spirit of '68, the story of a legend of yesterday and future. The hope for a world in which we could all live "together" with our differences… In Turkey, the youth of '68 realized the ideal of building a bridge over Zap River in Hakkari - the farthest Kurdish city in the east, between the borders of Iran and Iraq, where people still die while crossing the river. This was to protest against the big investments made on Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, and inequalities between the East and the West of the country.
