Massimo is twenty years old and grew up in northern Sardinia. He arrives in Cagliari to work in a pub managed by his uncle Giuseppe. The coexistence between the two is not easy: Massimo dreams of becoming a successful writer and tries to publish his first novel; his uncle is close to bankruptcy, so he lives with bitterness this disastrous situation. In the background, max discovers a new city, his love for a young Cuban dancer and the interest for a group of artists who, working with recycled materials, have elected to his philosophy "all the way back".
