When he is plunged into mourning, Charles leaves France and travels to Kazakhstan. He just wants to loose himself in the vastness of the steppes of Central Asia. While crossing the desert, Charles meets a beautiful young woman, Ulzhan. She becomes his guide. So Charles can externalize his demons and become a new life.
