PIUCULTURE JURY

La giuria Piuculture nasce dall’incontro di due realtà: il MedFilm Festival, giunto alla XX edizione, ed il giornale Piuculture, online da cinque anni, che hanno sede a Roma nel territorio del Municipio II e hanno l’intento comune di far conoscere popolazioni e culture straniere al pubblico italiano che spesso ne ha un’immagine sfuocata o distorta. Editore del giornale è l’Associazione Piuculture dedita all’incontro tra italiani e stranieri che abitano, lavorano, studiano in quest’area della città, e attiva nello stabilire rapporti con associazioni, comunità e persone di differente nazionalità. La giuria Piuculture, composta da sette cittadini che vivono a Roma ma provengono da Serbia, Guinea, Marocco, Iran, Romania, Filippine e Etiopia, vuole essere un ulteriore contributo alla conoscenza reciproca fra culture diverse.

The Piuculture Jury was created by the meeting of two realities: the MedFilm Festival, now in its 20^th edition, and the online publication Piuculture, established five years ago. They both have their offices in Rome, within the 2^nd Municipality, and have the common objective of putting the Italian public in touch with foreign people and cultures, which are often perceived in a distorted or hazy manner. The publisher of the journal is the Piuculture association, committed to creating a meeting place between Italians and foreigners who live, work and study in this area of the city, and to establishing relationships with associations, communities and people of different nationalities. The Piuculture Jury, made up of seven citizens who live in Rome but come from Serbia, Guinea, Morocco, Iran, Romania, Philippines and Ethiopia, wishes to be a further step in the mutual understanding between different cultures.

Aleksandra Mirkovic – Serbia

Serba d’origine, abruzzese d’adozione, romana per scelta. Laureanda in editoria e giornalismo presso La Sapienza di Roma. Oggi è redattrice, autrice e speaker per Radio Sapienza. Nutre una forte passione per la comunicazione, il cinema, la musica e la fotografia.

Born in Serbia, an adopted Abruzzan and Roman by choice. She’s currently studying publishing and journalism at University of Rome La Sapienza. She works as editor, author and speaker for Radio Sapienza. She has a strong passion for communication, film, music and photography.

Emery Enego Bavogui – Guinea

Nato nel 1962 a Macenta (Guinea), si è diplomato al Technicien Supérieur de Santé nel 1989, Institut Para Médical de Sidi Bel Abbès (Algeria). Infermiere professionale, dal 1989 lavora a Roma  in diverse cliniche. Dal 1991 lavora presso la Clinica Nuova Itor nel reparto di Cardiologia/Unità – Terapia Intensiva Coronarica. Le sue passioni sono la musica, il ballo, il cinema e i viaggi.

Born in 1962 in Macenta (Guinea), he graduated at the Technicien Supérieur de Santé in 1989, Institut Para Médical de Sidi Bel Abbès (Algeria). Since 1989 he works as practical nurse in several clinics in Rome. From 1991 he works at the Clinic Nuova Itor in the Department of Cardiology / Unit – ICU Coronary. His passions are music, dance, film and travel.

Hind Rajil – Marocco / Morocco

Nata nel 1989 a Béni Mellal da madre berbera e padre arabo, vive a Roma da quando aveva 5 anni. Ereditando dalla madre l’amore per l’arte e la creatività, decide di iscriversi al Liceo Artistico ‘Caravillani’. Qui comincia anche a frequentare l’Accademia di moda dove consegue il diploma di stilista. Studentessa di Lingue, Culture, Letterature, Traduzione presso La Sapienza, lavora come interprete e mediatrice tra Italia e paesi arabi per l’ambasciata della Libia. Pittrice, le sue grandi passioni sono l’arte, la filosofia, la poesia e la grande voglia di girare il mondo.

Born in Beni-Mellal in 1989 from Berber mother and Arab father, she lives in Rome since she was 5. Inheriting from her mother love for art and creativity, Hind enrolled at artistic high school ‘Caravillani.’ Here she also begins to attend the Fashion and Costume Academy, where she graduated as a fashion designer. She’s currently studying Language, Literacy, and Culture at University of Rome La Sapienza and working as interpreter and cultural-linguistic mediator between Italy and Arab countries at Libyan embassy. Painter, she has a strong passion for art, philosophy, poetry and travels.

Saghar Setareh – Iran

Nata nel 1985 a Teheran, dove ha studiato Comunicazione Visiva presso la facoltà di Arte e Architettura, nel 2007 si trasferisce a Roma e si iscrive all’Accademia di Belle Arti per studiare Grafica editoriale. Qui si specializza in Grafica e Fotografia. Oltre ad essere una graphic designer e illustratrice freelance, dal 2005 è anche insegnate professionista di lingua inglese. Nel 2012 è stata interprete per il festival CinemadaMare. È creatrice del blog www.labnoon.com, scrive di cibo e design.

Born in Tehran in 1985, where she studied Visual Communication at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Saghar moved to Rome in 2007. She enrolled the Academy of Fine Arts and studied Graphic Design. Specialized in Graphic and Photography, she works as graphic designer and freelance illustrator. Since 2005 she also teaches English. In 2012 she was interpreter for CinemadaMare festival. She’s food and design blogger at www.labnoon.com.

Alina Barbulescu – Romania

Nata Sibiu, in Transilvania, nel 2010 inizia la sua “avventura” in Italia,  paese  già visitato tante volte ma mai con l’idea di rimanere. Trasferitasi a Roma, continua gli studi in Comunicazione seguendo un corso di laurea magistrale presso l’Università La Sapienza. È appassionata di musica, fotografia e viaggi.

Born in Sibiu, in Transylvania, in 2010 she starts her ‘adventure’ in Italy, a country she had already visited many times but never with the aim of moving here. After she moved to Rome, she carries on her studies of Communication, attending a Master at La Sapienza University of Rome. She is keen on music, photography and travels.

Benjamin Vasquez Barcellano Jr – Filippine / Philippines

Nato a Daet, Camarines Norte nel 1972, è attore professionista  di teatro, tv e cinema. Nelle Filippine insegna teatro a bambini e giovani con Philippine Educational Theatre Association (PETA) e Actor’s Workshop Foundation. A Roma è organizzatore e regista del gruppo Pyramid Entertainment Productions e Alona Cochon. Dal 2009 ad oggi ha diretto spettacoli musicali, teatrali ed eventi tra cui Pinoy Sings Movie Themes (2009), Faces of Love (2010), Alay kay Inay (2011), Pilipinas: Perlas ng Silangan (2012) e Batang Idol (2013). È stato nel cast di A tutto tondo di e con Andrea Bosca. Appassionato di cinema, possiede un’invidiabile collezione di film che raggiunge i 1000 titoli.

Born in Daet, Camarines Norte in 1972, he is a theatre, TV and cinema professional actor. In Philippines he teaches theatre to children and young people at the Philippine Educational Theatre Association (PETA) and at the Actor’s Workshop Foundation. In Rome he works as organizer and director of the Pyramid Entertainment Productions Group and at Alona Cochon. Since 2009 on he has directed musicals, theatre shows and events such as Pinoy Sings Movie Themes (2009), Faces of Love (2010), Alay kay Inay (2011), Pilipinas: Perlas ng Silangan (2012) and Batang Idol (2013). He was in the cast of A tutto tondo directed by and starring Andrea Bosca. He is keen on cinema and owns an enviable films collection with more of 1000 titles.

Cristina Liuzzo – Etiopia / Ethiopia

Nata ad Addis Abeba nel 1982, dopo il diploma in Gestione Aziendale intraprende la professione di interprete. Le piace imparare le lingue e ama sia i film basati su storie vere che quelli ricchi di effetti speciali.

Born in Addis Ababa in 1982, she graduated in Business Management and started working as interpreter. She likes learning new languages and watching movies, both based on true stories and rich of visual effects.
