We are very pleased to announce the 32th edition of the MedFilm Festival in Rome, which will take place from the 5th to the 15th of November live and online with a rich programme of films, professional meetings, premieres and special events.
The 2026 edition promises to be a unique and international experience exploring the many dimensions of the Mare Nostrum.

The longest-running festival in Rome aims to disseminate and promote Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and European cinema. Enhancing the eleven-day program, traditionally focused on current events, the festival celebrates cinema in all its forms (fiction, documentaries, animation, and experimental), fostering dialogue among filmmakers, audiences, and industry professionals. In addition to screenings, tributes, and retrospectives, the 32nd edition will feature a series of professional meetings with emerging talents and established masters, university masterclasses, literary presentations, and conferences addressing the crucial issues of our time.

Alongside the main awards for the two competitions — the “Amore e Psiche” International Feature Film Competition and the “Methexis” International Short Film Competition — there will also be additional cash prizes and awards from the MedMeetings industry platform, now in its tenth edition, which includes the MedWips – Works in Progress call for fiction and creative documentary projects in post-production, and MedPitching for projects in development.

The deadline to submit to the 32nd edition of MedFilm is July 31. The regulations are available on the official website, and submissions must be made exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform.
