We are pleased to announce the 29th edition of the MEDFILM festival, that will take place from the 9th to the 19th of November 2023. Rome’s longest-running festival and the first italian one dedicated to Mediterranean cinematography, this year MedFilm Festival will take place live in Rome and online.

Eleven days centred on the diffusion and the promotion of Mediterranean and Middle eastern cinema, but not only. To enrich a program traditionally focused in covering present instances, the 29th editon will showcase a number of professional meetings, university masterclassess, encounters with young talents and great masters of cinema, literature presentations, and conferences on today’s most burning issues. Established in 1995 in occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Cinema and the Barcelona Declaration, the festival will continue to research and promote high quality works and to keep its course, confirming itself as a welcoming place that listens, reflects and opens up a cultural and productive dialogue between Italy and the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area.

Submissions are open from the 11th of May until the 31th of July, 2023. Applications can be sent only through Filmfreeway platform.

The direction of MedFilm Festival will communicate the selected works before the 10th of October, and the official list will be published on the website before the 30th of October 2023.
